v2rayNG vs v2rayN: Same Config, Very Different Performance

Hello,

I’ve been using v2rayNG and v2rayN with the exact same configuration (VLESS + Reality + TCP) on the same network and with the same core version. However, while v2rayNG struggles to establish a connection, v2rayN connects effortlessly and delivers excellent speed.

To rule out possible causes, I downloaded the latest versions of both applications, completely uninstalled the old v2rayNG from my phone, installed a fresh copy of Windows, and tested the identical configuration on both devices while connected to the same network. I also used the direct IP address in both configs to eliminate any DNS-related issues.

Despite all this, the result is the same: Xray core on Windows is blazing fast, while v2rayNG struggles to connect.Why?

OK so for whatever reason, V2rayTun has been working very nicely on Android, using the same x-ui VPS server setup. Yup same here using direct IP access instead of domain.

V2rayNG was working for most sites and apps, but particularly Google apps were blocking it.

I suspect you're experiencing servers were able to somehow detect you are using obfuscation. On V2rayTun, even with split tunneling enabled, I am able to connect to Google apps without any issue.
