Anatomy of Anthropic — The Philosophy, Products, Economics, and Governance Behind the World's Most Deliberate AI Company
他の言語で読む: 日本語
Anthropic is the world's most cautious AI company — and simultaneously the world's most disruptive.
Claude Code reached $1 billion in annual revenue within six months of launch. Cowork triggered a $285 billion sell-off in enterprise software stocks. MCP was donated to the Linux Foundation and became the industry standard for AI connectivity. In the same month the company refused a Pentagon contract on ethical grounds, it reached #1 on the App Store.
Why don't "caution" and "disruption" contradict each other?
This book dissects the company. Origin (PBC / LTBT), Philosophy (Constitutional AI / Mechanistic Interpretability), Technology (Haiku / Sonnet / Opus), Products (Claude Code / Cowork / MCP), Economics (Anthropic Economic Index), Governance (RSP / ethical branding). Six layers, structurally analyzed — revealing that everything is connected by a single, coherent design.
When we dissected the company, a single blueprint emerged. That is the true identity of Anthropic.
This book is a sequel to Silence of Intelligence, which analyzed the philosophy of Dario Amodei. It expands the scope from "one person's philosophy" to "the full anatomy of the enterprise."
This book consists of six chapters.
| Ch. | Title | What It Dissects |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | The Split — The Structural Inevitability of Anthropic's Birth | Origin. The contradiction of the Scaling Laws discoverer warning about the dangers of scaling. The design of PBC and LTBT |
| 2 | Constitutional AI — The Thought Experiment of Giving AI a Constitution | Philosophy. The limits of RLHF, the principle → self-critique → revision loop, Claude's Character, Mechanistic Interpretability |
| 3 | The Model Architecture — Haiku, Sonnet, Opus | Technology. The design philosophy of the three-tier structure, breaking "bigger = better" twice, Extended Thinking, Computer Use, Agent Team |
| 4 | The Product Trinity — Claude Code, Cowork, MCP | Products. Seizing the terminal, the desktop, and the protocol layer. The unified strategy of "execution, not conversation" |
| 5 | The Economic Index — The Company That Measures Its Own Destructive Power | Economics. Clio, five economic primitives, penetration into 49% of occupations, hiring slowdown for ages 22-25, the gap of "measuring the crisis without prescribing a cure" |
| 6 | The Deliberate Company — Why Anthropic Is Both the Most Cautious and the Most Disruptive | Governance. RSP v3.0, the Pentagon refusal → App Store #1 paradox, the flywheel structure, resolving the paradox of caution and disruption |
