Privacy Policy for Wireless Helper

Last updated: February 23, 2026

Wireless Helper ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information through our mobile application.

1. Important Disclosure: Location Data Access

Wireless Helper requires access to your device's location data, including in the background, solely to enable the "Auto-start on Wi-Fi" feature.

  • Why we need it: Android requires the "Fine Location" and "Background Location" permissions to allow an application to access the name of the connected Wi-Fi network (SSID).
  • How we use it: The app checks the SSID of the connected Wi-Fi network to determine if it matches the network you have selected for automatic triggering of Android Auto.
  • Storage and Sharing: We do not collect, store, or transmit your location data to any server. All processing happens strictly locally on your device. We do not share your location data with any third parties.
  • User Choice: Access to location is optional and only required if you choose to use the Wi-Fi auto-start feature.

2. Information Collection and Use

We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII).

Wireless Helper is a utility tool designed to act as a bridge/proxy for Android Auto. We do not track user behavior, usage habits, or personal identities.

3. Permissions

The application requests the following permissions to fulfill its purpose:

  • Location (Fine/Background): Used exclusively to identify the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) for automation triggers.
  • Bluetooth: Used to detect connections to vehicle Bluetooth systems to trigger the service.
  • Notifications: Used to display a required foreground service notification while the app is active.
  • Nearby Devices: Used on newer Android versions to scan for Bluetooth triggers without requiring location data.

4. Data Security

Since we do not collect or store any data, there is no risk of data breaches from our side. The communication between your phone and the headunit is a direct local connection.

5. Third-Party Services

The app does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
