ACL_TYPE_ACCESS on new RaspiOS

Hey guys,

later this week I installed the new RaspiOS based on trixie on my test environment. While playing around with raspiBackup I get this error message:

RBK0085I: Backuperstellung vom Typ rsync gestartet. Bitte Geduld rsync: [generator] set_acl: sys_acl_set_file(var/log/journal, ACL_TYPE_ACCESS): Operation not supported (95) rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred (see previous errors) (code 23) at main.c(1338) [sender=3.4.1] ??? RBK0021E: Backupprogramm des Typs rsync beendete sich mit RC 23

I just copied the configs from my productive raspi and did not change anything.
Is this something related to Debian 13?

I remember your last discussion where you reported /var/log/journal is not excluded. When I added the missing = in the exclude statement I thought it makes sense to keep the /var/log/journal directory and just exclude all subdirectories. I just detected the directory has some ACLs so my fix was a buggy fix. I just updated raspiBackup to exclude the directory itself also during backup.

Please execute sudo raspiBackup -U -S to grab the fix and try again.

No big deal. Thanks for investigating.
Was wondering why raspiBackup is still running on my productive system. But there I backup on ext4 and only on Sunday on nfs. 😉

Question is which nfs version and which nfs server you use. If you use for example a Raspberry, nfs supports ACLs. If you use a Synology nfs server, ACLs are not supported. EXT4 supports ACLs 😉 It's a mess with ACL support of nfs 😢

That's what I thought. Synology doesn't support ACLs via nfs.
