Year Dots is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains our data practices in clear terms.

The short version: We don't collect, store, or share any of your data. Period.

Data Collection

Year Dots collects ZERO data.

  • ❌ No personal information
  • ❌ No usage analytics
  • ❌ No crash reports
  • ❌ No advertising identifiers
  • ❌ No location data
  • ❌ No internet connectivity

Permissions

Year Dots requires only one permission:

SET_WALLPAPER (Wallpaper Access)

Purpose: To set and update your device's wallpaper
Usage: This permission is used exclusively to apply the generated wallpaper to your device
Data Storage: None - the wallpaper is generated on-device and sent directly to the Android system

Other Permissions

Year Dots does NOT request:

  • Internet access
  • Location services
  • Camera or microphone
  • Contacts or calendar
  • Storage access (beyond wallpaper setting)

Local Storage

Year Dots stores your customization preferences (colors, shape, size) locally on your device using Android's encrypted DataStore. This data:

  • Never leaves your device
  • Is only accessible to the app
  • Is deleted when you uninstall the app
  • Cannot be accessed by other apps

Third-Party Services

Year Dots uses zero third-party services:

  • No analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
  • No crash reporting tools
  • No advertising networks
  • No social media integrations
  • No cloud services

Children's Privacy

Year Dots does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13. The app is safe for all ages.

Open Source Transparency

Year Dots is open source. You can:

  • Review the entire source code on GitHub
  • Verify that no data collection occurs
  • Build the app yourself from source
