Frontend Fix Summary - Categories Available Field

Problem

The "Categories Available" field was missing from the main event creation/edit forms that users actually see.

Solution

Added categoriesAvailable field to:

  1. EventForm.jsx - Already had it
  2. EventCreate.jsx - JUST ADDED (This is the main form shown in images)
  3. EventEdit.jsx - JUST ADDED (This is used for editing events)

Changes Made

EventCreate.jsx

  • Added categoriesAvailable: '' to formData state
  • Added textarea field before submit buttons
  • Field will be included in form submission automatically

EventEdit.jsx

  • Added categoriesAvailable: '' to formData state
  • Added loading of categoriesAvailable from event data
  • Added textarea field before submit buttons
  • Field will be included in form submission automatically

Next Steps to See Changes

  1. Rebuild Frontend:

    cd frontend
    npm run build
    # or for development
    npm run dev
  2. Clear Browser Cache:

    • Press Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac)
    • Or open DevTools (F12) → Network tab → Check "Disable cache"
  3. Test:

    • Go to Create Event page
    • Scroll down to find "Categories Available (Optional)" field
    • It should appear after the Date & Time section, before Submit buttons

Where to Find the Field

The "Categories Available" field will appear:

  • Create Event page: After "End Date & Time", before "Create Event" button
  • Edit Event page: After "End Date & Time", before "Update Event" button
