SSP302 Switch Meter Plugin

This describes the Z-Wave device SSP302, manufactured by Horstmann Controls Limited with the thing type UID of horstmann_ssp302_00_000.

The device is in the category of Power Outlet, defining Small devices to be plugged into a power socket in a wall which stick there.

The SSP302 supports routing. This allows the device to communicate using other routing enabled devices as intermediate routers. This device is also able to participate in the routing of data between other devices in the mesh network.

Overview

Inclusion Information

To include the SSP 302 onto a network, put the controller into inclusion mode. Now, press and hold the button on SSP 302 for 4 to 7 seconds then release. The network status LED will start flashing (twice per second) on successful start of inclusion process.

Note: Refer to the controller's manual for controller relevant actions.

On successful inclusion the LED will turn off.

Note: Inclusion means add and exclusion means delete.

The total process can take up to 20 seconds (Refer to the “Technical specifications – Radio” section for details). If the device fails to join the network it will go back to factory default state and the Network status LED will start flashing once per second. If there is an issue with RF Communication, then re-locate the device and repeat the inclusion process again.

Exclusion Information

To exclude the SSP 302 from a network, put the controller into exclusion mode (refer to controller instructions) and follow the same sequence as per the inclusion process for include node. After successful exclusion the network status LED will start flashing once per second, and the device will reset to factory default.

If exclusion fails, SSP 302 network status LED will turn off after about 5 seconds.

Note: Exclusion only works when the device is in direct range of the controller (no repeater allowed).

Switch

Switch the power on and off.

The switch_binary channel is of type switch_binary and supports the Switch item and is in the Switch category.

Electric meter (volts)

Indicates the instantaneous voltage.

The meter_voltage channel is of type meter_voltage and supports the Number item and is in the Energy category. This is a read only channel so will only be updated following state changes from the device.

Electric meter (kWh)

Indicates the energy consumption (kWh).

The meter_kwh channel is of type meter_kwh and supports the Number item and is in the Energy category. This is a read only channel so will only be updated following state changes from the device.

Electric meter (power factor)

Indicates the instantaneous power factor.

The meter_powerfactor channel is of type meter_powerfactor and supports the Number item and is in the Energy category. This is a read only channel so will only be updated following state changes from the device.

Electric meter (kVAh)

Indicates the energy consumption (kVAh).

The meter_kvah channel is of type meter_kvah and supports the Number item and is in the Energy category. This is a read only channel so will only be updated following state changes from the device.

Electric meter (amps)

Indicates the instantaneous current consumption.

The meter_current channel is of type meter_current and supports the Number item and is in the Energy category. This is a read only channel so will only be updated following state changes from the device.

Electric meter (watts)

Indicates the instantaneous power consumption.

The meter_watts channel is of type meter_watts and supports the Number item and is in the Energy category. This is a read only channel so will only be updated following state changes from the device.

The following table provides a summary of the 16 configuration parameters available in the SSP302. Detailed information on each parameter can be found in the sections below.

Parameter 1: Switch Status

Switch Status delta based configuration

Values in the range 0 to 1 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 1.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_1_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 2: Voltage delta

Voltage delta based configuration This configuration Parameter will be used to enable/disable the delta base voltage reporting.

Resolution of this parameter is 100 mV.if user wants to set 10V delta then it should be 10/0.1 = 100. Values in the range 0 to 60 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_2_2 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 3: Current delta

Current delta based configuration This configuration Parameter will be used to enable/disable the delta base curenrt reporting.

Resolution of this parameter is 10 mA.if user wants to set 1A delta then it should be 1/0.01 = 100. Values in the range 0 to 15 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_3_2 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 4: Power Factor

Power Factor delta based configuration This configuration Parameter will be used to enable/disable the delta base Power Factor reporting in 0.1% resolution.

if user wants to set Power Factor 10% = 10/0.1 = 100 Values in the range 0 to 100 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_4_2 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 5: Active Power

Active Power delta based configuration This configuration Parameter will be used to enable/disable the delta base Active Power reporting in 1 W resolution. Values in the range 0 to 4000 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_5_2 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 6: Active Energy

Active Energy delta based configuration This configuration Parameter will be used to enable/disable the delta base Active Energyreporting in 1 Wh resolution. Values in the range 0 to 32000 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_6_2 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 7: Apparent Energy

Apparent Energy delta based configuration This configuration Parameter will be used to enable/disable the delta base Apparent Energy reporting in 1 VAh resolution. Values in the range 0 to 32000 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_7_2 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 8: Switch Status time

Switch Status time interval based This configuration Parameter will be used to set the time interval base reporting of switch status in 1 second resolution Values in the range 0 to 65520 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_8_2 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 9: Voltage time

Voltage time interval based This configuration Parameter will be used to set the time interval base reporting of voltagein 1 second resolution. Values in the range 0 to 65520 may be set.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_9_2 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 10: Current time

Current time interval based This configuration Parameter will be used to set the time interval base reporting of currentin 1 second resolution. Values in the range 0 to 65520 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_10_2 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 11: Power Factor time

Power Factor time interval based This configuration Parameter will be used to set the time interval base reporting of Power Factor in 1 second resolution Values in the range 0 to 65520 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_11_2 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 12: Active Power time

Active Power time interval based This configuration Parameter will be used to set the time interval base reporting of Active Power in 1 second resolution. Values in the range 0 to 65520 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_12_2 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 13: Active Energy time

Active Energy time interval based This configuration Parameter will be used to set the time interval base reporting of Active Energy in 1 second resolution. Values in the range 0 to 65520 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_13_2 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 14: Apparent Energy time

Apparent Energy time interval based This configuration Parameter will be used to set the time interval base reporting of Apparent Energy in 1 second resolution. Values in the range 0 to 65520 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_14_2 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 15: Relay and LED configuration

Relay and LED configuration This configuration is used to change the relay LED status when relay is open/close and also enable to whether to retain the last relay status over power cycle.

Parameter 16: Sleep Current Config

Sleep Current Config This configuration is used to disconnect the load if the device current is less the configured sleep current for more than 30 seconds, this configuration has the resolution of 0.001 A .

Common attributes:

-Min Value = 0

-Zero configurations means that the corresponding functionality is disabled.Value set more than maximum allowable limit will be rejected silently, and SSP 302 will retain it last configuration value. Values in the range 0 to 1 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_16_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Association Groups

Association groups allow the device to send unsolicited reports to the controller, or other devices in the network. Using association groups can allow you to eliminate polling, providing instant feedback of a device state change without unnecessary network traffic.

The SSP302 supports 5 association groups.

Group 1: Lifeline

The Lifeline association group reports device status to a hub and is not designed to control other devices directly. When using the Lineline group with a hub, in most cases, only the lifeline group will need to be configured and normally the hub will perform this automatically during the device initialisation.

Association group 1 supports 4 nodes.

Group 2: Power

Association group 2 supports 4 nodes.

Group 3: Electrical Parameter

Association group 3 supports 4 nodes.

Group 4: Relay Status

Association group 4 supports 4 nodes.

Group 5: Time

Association group 5 supports 1 node.
