I am trying to subscribe to GitHub Copilot Pro. I have added my credit card details and selected the $100/year plan after the trial subscription. The payment process appears to have completed successfully, and I have followed all the necessary steps. However, I am still not able to use Copilot Pro in my Visual Studio Code editor.

I have tried restarting VS Code and re-authenticating, but Copilot is still not functioning as expected. Please help me resolve this issue.

If you've subscribed to Copilot Pro but can't use it in VS Code, make sure you're signed in to VS Code with the same GitHub account that has the Copilot Pro subscription. Then reload VS Code, check that the GitHub Copilot extension is installed and enabled, and verify that your subscription is active on GitHub. If the issue persists, sign out and sign back in or contact GitHub Support.

I've done all that, over and over again. Switched to Claude Code. Works great!

2. Check for Multiple GitHub Accounts:
   If you're logged in with multiple GitHub accounts, VS Code might be using the wrong one. Ensure the account with Pro is the one used in Copilot.

3. Check for Extension Conflicts:
   Try disabling other autocomplete or AI-related extensions that may conflict with Copilot.

4. Use Developer Tools for Debugging:
   Open Developer Tools in VS Code (Help > Toggle Developer Tools > Console) to see if any Copilot-related errors are logged.

5. Check GitHub Token Status:

I have uninstalled the plugin and then again installed. After that login to GitHub copilot but the issue is still there.

Could you please try this for the last time

1. Fully Clear All Copilot Auth Sessions in VS Code
   Open Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P) and run:

• GitHub: Sign Out

• Copilot: Sign Out

• Developer: Reload Window

Then also run: GitHub: Clear Authentication Sessions

2. Re-sign In Correctly
   Now re-run:

GitHub: Sign In

Copilot: Sign In
Make sure you authorize the OAuth prompt and verify that it shows up in:
https://github.com/settings/applications

Check again if its working or not, if not then it’s probably an account or token issue on GitHub’s side, and I recommend contacting GitHub Support with your screenshots. Sorry this is all i could help T_T

Did you found a solution to this? I am facing the same problem no matter what i do, it wont allow me to use the copilot. Now I am blocked post making payment, should have stayed on the free version .

I have upgraded to Copilot pro. It shows correctly on billing section that i have upgraded to pro. But in Copilot feature still it shows free. I have done all sign outs and signed in. It didnt work. Any suggestions?

It seems that this extension has gone belly up and no one is addressing it, even though thousands of people have paid money for a Copilot license and can't access it through VS Code. Timie to try another editor.
