I am Korean, and my name is JUNSEO LEE. I am trying to submit my certificate of enrollment to use the Education Benefits, but it says that the name on the document does not match.

On the billing page, my first name is written as JUNSEO and my last name is LEE. On my certificate of enrollment, my name is written as JUNSEO LEE.

Could you please help me resolve this issue?

this usually happens when system compares the field name separately on the billing page ur first name is stored as JUNSEO and ur last name as LEE while on the certificate its stored as JUNSEO LEE as a single field

so u can try re-uploading of documents or check for extra spacing in documents still if ur issue isnt resolved try contacting support team they might manually verify ur document

This is a common issue for international students. Your billing name and document name need to match exactly — try going to Settings → Billing & plans and combining your name into one field as JUNSEO LEE instead of splitting it across first and last name, then resubmit your document.
If that still doesn't work, just open a support ticket at https://support.github.com/contact and mention you're an international student with a combined name format on your certificate — they deal with this regularly and can sort it out manually. Good luck! 🙂

It looks like the issue is caused by how GitHub Education interprets the first and last name fields. On your certificate, your full name appears as “JUNSEO LEE,” but GitHub expects the first name and last name to be separated exactly as in your billing/profile information.
u need:
1. Double-check your GitHub profile / billing information
• First name: JUNSEO
• Last name: LEE
2. If your certificate cannot be edited, submit a GitHub Education support ticket:
• Go to: GitHub Education Support
• Select “Student Developer Pack / Education benefits”
• Explain clearly:
Hello, my GitHub account has first name JUNSEO and last name LEE. My certificate of enrollment shows my full name as JUNSEO LEE. The system says the names don’t match. Please help me verify my student status using this certificate.
3. Attach your certificate and any other proof of enrollment.
