I have the same problem, you probably have good quality its just github making it blurry for some reason, I had tried using OBS Virtual Cam, that didn't work too, I submitted many applications already, yet none of them were accepted and it's also bad that you just can't contact the support about it: "Individual manual reviews and status updates are no longer provided." I also see that this problem persists for many months and it appears that github doesn't really care about it, even when they know about this issue... |

GitHub Education does support document uploads as an alternative to camera verification. When you're on the verification page, there should be an option to upload a photo of your academic document instead of using the live camera. Accepted documents usually include:
A few tips to improve your chances of approval:
If the camera option keeps getting rejected and you can't switch to document upload, try opening the application in a different browser (Chrome usually works best) or clearing your cache and restarting the process. |

That situation is pretty frustrating from what I know, github is usually quite strict with the camera verification step, and if the image isn’t clear enough, it just keeps getting rejected automatically. About your question you generally can’t manually upload documents like transcripts unless github specifically gives you that option. The process is mostly automated through the camera check. A few things that might help:
If it keeps failing, your best bet is to contact github education support directly and explain the situation. Hope you get it sorted soon. |

@shaheerali4 I have had the same problem for activating the account, you will loose a lot of time trying to submit it as a file. I reccomend you to send the photo/file you want to show to a computer and take a photo of the computer or viceversa. |

The issue is most likely due to poor image clarity during the camera-based verification, as GitHub’s system relies on automated checks and requires the student ID details to be clearly visible. To resolve this, make sure you capture the image in good lighting, place your ID on a flat surface, avoid shadows or glare, and use a device with a better camera—preferably a phone’s rear camera. Also ensure that all important details like your name, institution, and validity are clearly readable before submitting. If possible, try using your official student email ID for verification, as that can sometimes bypass the need for document capture. Currently, GitHub does not support uploading transcripts or other documents manually for this process, so improving the image quality and resubmitting is the best way to get approved. |
