If you already paid and still cannot use Copilot, it usually means the account entitlement did not refresh properly. I would check https://github.com/settings/copilot, then revoke Copilot and VS Code under https://github.com/settings/applications and sign in again. If the web page still says access denied after that, Support will need to fix it on their side. |

This is a known issue where your Copilot Pro subscription payment has been processed, but the entitlement (access rights) hasn't been properly activated on your account. This is commonly called an entitlement provisioning delay or SKU mismatch. Here's what's likely happening and how to fix it: Root CauseWhen you pay for Copilot Pro, GitHub's billing system processes the payment, but sometimes the "entitlement" (the actual permission to use Copilot features) doesn't get properly provisioned to your account. This can happen due to:
Step-by-Step FixStep 1: Verify Your Subscription StatusGo to https://github.com/settings/billing/copilot and check:
Step 2: Check GitHub Copilot SettingsGo to https://github.com/settings/copilot and verify:
Step 3: Clear Cached Authentication in VS CodeAs txhno mentioned, stale auth tokens can cause this:
Step 4: Revoke and Re-authorize GitHub Copilot
Step 5: Check GitHub StatusGo to https://www.githubstatus.com/ to verify there are no ongoing Copilot service outages. Many users are experiencing widespread Copilot issues today. Step 6: Verify Your RegionCopilot Pro is not available in all countries. Check if your region is supported:
Step 7: Contact GitHub Billing Support (Most Important Step)Since you've already paid and the service still isn't working, this is almost certainly a backend provisioning issue that only GitHub Support can resolve.
What GitHub Support Can DoWhen you contact support, they can:
Temporary WorkaroundWhile waiting for support to resolve this:
Important NoteSince multiple users are reporting similar "paid but can't use" issues today, there may be a widespread GitHub outage or deployment issue affecting Copilot entitlements. If the GitHub Status page shows everything green but you still can't access Copilot, the support ticket is definitely the right path. Let me know if any of these steps help, or if you need further assistance! |

Hi @QuocHoang94, I've researched this issue and this is a well-documented Copilot Pro entitlement provisioning problem. Here's what's happening and how to resolve it: Root CauseWhen you pay for Copilot Pro, GitHub's billing system processes the payment, but the entitlement (actual access permission) doesn't get properly synced to your account. This is called an entitlement provisioning delay or SKU mismatch. Solution StepsStep 1: Check GitHub Status FirstGo to https://www.githubstatus.com/ — there are widespread Copilot outages reported today (April 14, 2026). If services are degraded, wait for GitHub to resolve it. Step 2: Clear Local Copilot CacheDelete your local token cache to force a fresh authentication:
Step 3: Revoke and Re-authorize OAuth
Step 4: Check Regional AvailabilityCopilot Pro is not available in all countries. Go to your billing page and check if your region is supported. If not, the payment goes through but the service won't activate. Step 5: Switch to Pre-Release ExtensionIn VS Code, switch the GitHub Copilot Chat extension to the Pre-Release version — this often bypasses provisioning bugs. Step 6: Contact GitHub Support (Most Important)Since you've already paid and the service still isn't working, GitHub Support needs to manually refresh your entitlement from their backend:
GitHub Support can manually refresh your entitlement and typically resolves this within 24-48 hours. Temporary WorkaroundWhile waiting for support:
This is a known issue affecting many users today, and contacting GitHub Support is the definitive solution. |
