Obviously there is something seriously wrong with the Copilot infrastructure. It is falling apart and it is no longer possible to get work done using tools that are broken. What other options are there realistically speaking?

Anybody know if we can replace Copilot with something robust?

Alternatives:

1. Other AI coding tools
   Cursor (AI-first IDE, very popular alternative)
   Codeium (free + stable autocomplete)
   Tabnine (more traditional ML autocomplete)
   Continue.dev (open-source, works with local or hosted models)

2. Use Copilot more reliably
   Update/reinstall the extension
   Check GitHub status (Copilot outages do happen)
   Try switching models/features (chat vs inline)
   Test in a clean workspace to rule out extension conflicts

If your workflow depends heavily on AI assistance, many developers are now using Cursor or Continue + local/hosted models as a more controllable setup.
