Improve documentation

Want to remove blockers and facilitate contribution. Some things to add:

• quickstart
• contribution guidelines
• examples
• python environment file (requirements.txt or environment.yaml)

Very interested in seeing this one done, so I can help with some of the tasks.
I checked the project few weeks ago and understood most of it but few things were not running as expected. So, anything that helps me get started would be helpful.
