I see you already linked it to #1284, it is not similar, it is the same issue. A build 0.11.6 was made with the fix. Could you please try with the build and close your ticket if it works.

#1284 is only about TextFlow.getUnderlineShape but TextFlowExt.getCaretShape has a similar issue with OpenJFX25 and RichTextFX 0.11.6.

You are right, it's strange that we didn't see that (I didn't compile the code, @Jugen did). The reason for not changing was mentionned on the PR #1284

The difference between getUnderlineShape and getCaretShape was that the first one was marked final. So it is only a matter of adding a public in front of the method.
