Can you provide a stand-alone demo that reproduces the problem?

Looks like this issue is caused by creating an area via FXML, making it an earlier duplicate of #443. As such, I'm closing this one since the aforementioned issue has more up-to-date info about it.
Please reopen if you find the issue is caused by something else.
