The Taoist’s healing aura continues to execute infinitely even after the 5-second heal duration ends, though it seems to work normally within instances.

This also remains permanently on the buff bar, just like other buffs and debuffs, and it works normally in instances.

This probably happens with all buffs and debuffs outside of instances.

Binary Analysis — Root Cause Identified

Status: Cannot fix via JSON — buff timer system not implemented in C++

Root Cause

The server's BuffManager can ADD buffs but has NO mechanism to REMOVE them based on their timer. A comprehensive binary analysis confirms this:

Buff Application (implemented):

• CBuffInfo::AddBuffSlot → FOUND in BuffManager.cpp
• CBuffInfo::Attach → FOUND in BuffManager.cpp
• ContentsBuff.cpp → FOUND

Buff Expiration (not implemented — ALL returned 0 results):

• UpdateBuff → NOT FOUND
• TickBuff → NOT FOUND
• ProcessBuff → NOT FOUND
• RemoveBuff → NOT FOUND
• ExpireBuff → NOT FOUND
• DetachBuff → NOT FOUND
• BuffTimeOut → NOT FOUND
• CheckBuff → NOT FOUND

There is NO function in the compiled binary that checks buff remaining time and removes expired buffs.

JSON Data (correct but unused for expiration)

BUFF.json IS loaded. The server reads BuffTime (2 references) — duration IS loaded into memory but never checked against elapsed time.

Fields NOT read by server (0 references each):

• KeepType_StageOut (buff removal on map change)
• KeepType_Die (buff removal on death)
• BuffProbability, detachBuffID, BuffArmorType, OverLapCallGroupID

Why it works in instances

Instanced dungeons have their own lifecycle — when the instance ends, all entities (including buff states) are destroyed. In open world, there is no cleanup and the missing timer logic means buffs persist forever.

Impact

This is systemic — affects EVERY buff/debuff in open world:

• Heal over Time effects never stop healing
• CC immunity states persist forever
• Stat buffs from skills never expire
• Debuffs on enemies never expire
• Likely contributes to Issue Taoist Heal Bug with Evade skill #106 (Heal → Evade cooldown bypass) since the CC immunity buff never expires

Fix Required

1. Implement a buff timer/tick function in BuffManager.cpp that iterates active buffs, compares elapsed time vs BuffTime, and removes expired buffs
2. Register this function in the game's main tick loop for all characters in open world
3. Implement KeepType_StageOut (remove on map change) and KeepType_Die (remove on death) handlers
4. Implement detachBuffID (linked buff removal)
