M4 MacBook Pro SameBoy Randomly Resets

While playing the Japanese versions of Pokemon Gold, Silver, or Crystal for the Game Boy Color the game will just randomly reset for no reason. It never happened when I played the Japanese versions of Pokemon Red, Green, Blue, or Pikachu for the regular GameBoy for many hours though so that might narrow something down, be it a GBC or RTC problem. I had this problem a while back on an M1 MacBook Air and it still persists even now on an M4 MacBook Pro.

This is really odd. Do you have any save state from right before this bug happens? How exactly does it reset? Does it display the boot animation again? Does it end up in "GB mode on GBC" (like pictured)?

Unfortunately I don't have any saves because this all happened quite a while ago and I forgot I had a GitHub account (that I made ironically enough to report about a bug in the Japanese version of Crystal in this repository.) I don't know if a save state or anything would help much anyway since its so random and abrupt. It cuts away immediately but I can't quite remember if it was back to the SameBoy splash screen or just the game starting. I wanna say the splash screen. Sorry I can't be of any help there. It looks and sounds completely fine, nothing like the image you posted. It would unfortunately probably take a long time to test, since both periods of me playing these games I made quite a bit of progress until it happened. The first time I was only playing one game (Kin) and got all 16 badges and was grinding the elite four before it ever happened. But it happened multiple times after that. The second instance was more recent and I was alternating between all three games (Kin, Gin, and Crystal) at once. That time it didn't ever happen until I had about 4 badges in each game.

This isn't much of an update but I was talking to a friend who was playing the Japanese versions at the same time as me and they said they also had this problem and that it flashed white and went back to the game's copyright screen (not the SameBoy splash screen.) They also said they were moving Pokemon around in boxes but I don't know if that has anything to do with it as the times it happened to me it didn't involve that. I was just battling or walking around.
