GSoC 2025 – Interest in Lazy Trajectory Analysis or Streaming Integration Projects #5002

Hi MDAnalysis Team, I'm Snigdha Reddy Nannuri, a Master’s student in Data Science at the University of North Texas, graduating in May 2025. I’m very excited about the opportunity to contribute to MDAnalysis for GSoC 2025! I’m particularly interested in the following projects: Lazy trajectory analysis with Dask and a Lazy Timeseries API Integrating MDAnalysis streaming analysis within WESTPA propagators (Optionally: HBond interactions from implicit hydrogens / Benchmarking & Optimization) I have hands-on experience with Python, NumPy, and scientific computing workflows, and have worked on projects involving large datasets, deep learning (PyTorch), and cloud-based reproducible AI pipelines. Due to my visa conditions (F1), I would be able to start coding from July 6, and I’m fully available during the Community Bonding period. I’m also happy to opt for an extended timeline if needed. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the best way to start contributing and getting involved with the project(s). I’ve also attached my resume for reference. Thank you for your time! Best, |

Hi @snigdhareddy482, Thank you for expressing your interest. As you will see in our blog post about how to participate with MDAnalysis through GSoC 2025, we have a multi-stage application process which includes submitting a pre-proposal through a dedicated form before March 21, 2025. As this deadline has now passed, we are unfortunately unable to consider your application this year. We hope this notification will allow you to focus your efforts on other GSoC organizations you might be interested in working with. |
