MapRVA Events Calendar

What's the calendar? What is the organization or group of people behind the calendar? (Required)
MapRVA is a volunteer group that meets up to build better maps of RVA and beyond.

Does the calendar feature free events, or does it contain free events which can be filtered out? (Required)
All MapRVA events are free.

What are some tags that would apply to this space and it's events?
uh. sorry I didn't look at the tags before writing this issue. volunteering? community service? maps?

It would be lit to put a map emoji next to each of our events 🗺️

Importantly, most of our events are in-person but we host a fair share of virtual events. If it isn't OK to include those in rva.rip, we need to figure out a tagging/filtering system. I can't keep track of two calendars 🤪

Sorry for not getting back to you a while; remind me to text you back soon.

Anyway as for the MapRVA calendar we can totally do filtering! That's what the tagging questions are about. What you're totally able to do is set an emoji or a constant keyword that will always be in the title or description that I can use to apply some regex logic that will filter those events out. That way you'd be able to use one calendar on your side for in-person and virtual events and we can filter out the virtual ones.

Next steps would look like creating some kind of Google Calendar for MapRVA! If you'd like, you can follow the guide at https://rva.rip/contributing and submit it as part of this issue. I'll be happy to implement it as soon as I can!
