It seems this is all in flux, so not sure committing changes that will revert (or change again) is a good idea at this moment - @sashakames can correct me if my logic is wrong

I think this is a bad idea, as while there are backups on the ANL system, the "production" system will be ORNL or NERSC. As this will likely change back, might be a good idea to catch it before we do
@sashakames can you chime in on my logic please?
