Spotlight ID Cleanup

NOTE: This should be split into separate tickets once the issues have been investigated. Post initial thoughts on solutions here before splitting out into a separate ticket!

What needs to be done? Why does it need to be done?

In preparation for the Spotlight ID launch at the end of the month, we should try to resolve all of the pending functional issues. Issues can be previewed in the Staging dashboard.

Most (if not all) of these issues should not require hefty solutions. Where absolutely necessary, we can suppress features/sections that would require heavier long-term solutions.

• Judicial District dropdown doesn’t work on either chart.

PRISON

• Current Population (“Who is in Custody?”)
  • Facilities Dropdown includes Sheriff Departments and other states. Should probably restrict the dropdown to IDOC facilities only (align with Pathways), and compile all others into an "Other" category.
• Recidivism
  • Still broken, but should already be implemented here and just needs to be implemented. @colincadams to advise.

PROBATION

• Current Population
  • Judicial District dropdown doesn’t work.
• What happens after probation?
  • Broken; should be suppressed for now.

PAROLE

• Current Population
  • District 0 shows up in the dropdown.
• What happens after probation?
  • Broken; should be suppressed for now.

RACIAL DISPARITIES

• What are we doing to improve disparities in Idaho?
  • Empty, but should be fixed with broader copy changes.

Timeline

• July 20th; this would land all the necessary changes before @ldfielding reviews with IDOC representatives.

Adding my notes on unknown revocation types here (from slack conversation):

Update on unknown revocation types:

We classify a revocation type by what the most severe violation type is. In Idaho, this data is stored in two places: 1) A “violation survey” that is stored in the same place as assessments (LSI-R) in their data system; and 2) Case Notes (free-text). Violations are only listed in the “violation survey” if they are discussed with a supervisor. Otherwise, they are just listed in the free-text case notes.

We only hydrate violation types from the first source. I’ve pulled a sample of 15 people who were revoked from supervision earlier this year along with the 10 most recent case notes for that person preceding their revocation.
