Around 11:30 on Wednesday 12 March I decided to repeatedly :starhaj: and un-:starhaj: a "pin message" in #starboard. By performing a shoulder-surfing attack on @TheOnlyMrCat (who was sitting next to me in a lecture at the time), I determined that this had the amusing effect of flooding #admin-alerts with database errors, so I continued in this endeavour for some minutes.
However, I managed to cause enough database errors that uqcs bot got tired and had a nap, so while it was asleep I sent a large number (fifty-five) of quiet messages in #yelling (but only received a 17-hour timeout, which I was most disappointed by). I presume that a transgression of this magnitude will be of the utmost priority to fix.
Additionally, I would also request that if a user manages to send multiple quiet messages in #yelling they are timed out for the period proportionate to the number of non-yelling messages sent.
Yours,
alegs
