Is it possible to not use a subdirectory for posts?

I would like to have my blogposts directly under my baseurl without the, for me useless Site posts, because I only have this category of content except for the two or three menu-entrys.
I followed this article but now there are no posts listed at the home page.
Can I change the what content should be listed?
