Update Sprint 40 - Internet Connection Failure

Hi,

I just updated to the newest version, Sprint 40, from the previous. I can use the preview button and preview in browser, but when checking for updates or using the plugins tool I receive this error: ERROR GETTING UPDATE INFO ...please make sure you are connected to internet. Plugins - "Unable to access the extension registry. Please try again later".

Also when following a link from an html file in preview mode the link will show no internet connection.

I am connected to the internet as I am writing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated would love to have access to updates and plugins.

@ztrdoo7 Brackets Extension Manager gets the info from https://brackets-registry.aboutweb.com/, so that web site may have been down. It seems to be up now -- can you try again?

Did this ever work for you? If not try using the proxy setting described in https://github.com/adobe/brackets/wiki/How-to-Use-Brackets#preferences.

Hi thank you for the reply, ,it is still not working. I have tried the proxy setting in the link provided as well. I will try a fresh install and see if this helps the problem. I will post update.

Uninstall and fresh install of Sprint 40 did not work either.. reinstalled Sprint 39 and everything works perfectly. It is something with the Sprint 40 and Windows 8.1 I would imagine?

The update notification is served from s3.amazonaws.com/files.brackets.io/updates/stable/en.json. We had a minor issues last Friday, where the content type of the json file wasn't properly configured on the S3 bucket, but this got resolved pretty soon after we saw this failure from happening.
