add some time of ux element to show upcoming events with dates in a list on the front page

Now that we took away the blue footer with all the events, there only place you see dates is the map, and it's not date-sorted.

We need some type of UX element on the front page to provide this information.

Please use this issue to suggest your ideas.

A single listing under the twitter feed would be a "minimum effort" way to do it and consistent with expectations from the current design.

What I use this for...

• Planning to see what's next
• Checking to see if anything new has been added (hard-ish to do in a list)
• Getting a simple count of how many are left for budget (travel to attend, sponsorship) purposes
• Easily see events that are "too close together" to make early choices on which to attend / sponsor

Really good (for me) it would be calendar based. Ideal would be an actual calendar that I could use as a feed for Google Calendar. (but I digress into implementation far too quickly)

I'm thinking we basically take what is in the bottom right blue footer ("Future") in the current site and slam it into a widget looking thing in the right sidebar under the twitter feed, if I am translating what @kmugrage is saying correctly :)

Yep. Prettier is for later. This is just as decent-looking as what we have now.

Correct. It's way too cluttered having it on the front page in its current form. If we design something later that scales and fits better I'm not against it but this is much better for now.
