We want to connect Amal News to Integreat - so we need Amal News as a source for our news.

Proposed Solution

Add Amal News as source from the wordpress endpoints they provide:
Supra-regional news in German: https://amalnews.de/wp-json/wp/v2/news?lang=de

Thank you for updates. We need to know how exaclty the API response will look like once everything is implemented on Amal's side. The exmaple in "Proposed Solution" shows only what we currently get.

We want to see something like this.

"On this staging website, our news articles are available via the WordPress REST API, filtered by language:

Arabic: https://staging.amalnews.de/wp-json/wp/v2/news?lang=ar

Ukrainian: https://staging.amalnews.de/wp-json/wp/v2/news?lang=ua

Each post exposes id, date, slug, title, content, excerpt (plain text, no markup), city (term IDs), and city_slugs — an array of slugs mapping to our three covered cities: berlin, frankfurt, and hamburg.

A few things worth flagging:

• No featured images. Our news content is text-based; featured_media will always be 0.
• Ukrainian language code. Our WPML setup uses the non-standard code ua instead of the ISO uk. Please use ?lang=ua when querying Ukrainian content.
• WPML and _links.self. The self URLs in the _links object include WPML's language prefix (e.g. /ua/wp-json/…). We recommend building requests directly against the canonical endpoints listed above rather than relying on _links.self.
• Syndication control. Each article includes an acf_integreat boolean field. Only articles explicitly marked for syndication will appear in the feed — posts without this field set are included by default during our testing phase.

We'd be happy to align on any additional fields or parameters your integration needs."

It would be very helpful if they could provide also reference to alternative languages: in which other languages the same article is available.

Answer from Amal:

We often have the same topics on all pages (if this is important news) but not all news are available in all languages and the news are all written separately and might be different according to the preferences of the different communities.

That means, that there should be no reference to alternative languages, as the articles are not exact translations even if they cover the same topic
