this is what Aurora should always have been!! 🤦♂️
Our experience of using the "old" Aurora for clients was it was slow and expensive. 🐌 💸
3 things that are not covered:
- request latency in the same datacenter ⏳
- pricing for storage, requests and data egress 💰
- What does "distributed" mean in practice? How many datacenters? 🔢
What if we want to have it running in more locations? 💭
Keeping my eye on this but not wasting any time on "preview" ...
Going to continue with Autobase #114 on Hetzner dwyl/learn-devops#97
as it will serve our use case more than adequately with the same availability for a tiny fraction of the price.
(don't expect "serverless" Postgres to be cheap!)
