Port to Python

This has definitely been on the agenda, and should be fairly easy since we're using SWIG. The issue is none of our team are Python devs so we're not quite sure on what the standard practice is for distributing native packages. If you have any recommendations as to how you'd like us to distribute the port I'd love to hear them.

I'll do my best to get onto porting this as soon as I get some other work completed.

Okay, thanks! Normally, people distribute python packages via PyPI. You can also just have the package in a git repository. This link should be of help.

Generally, nowadays, people use Python Wheels. It has many advantages. Here is some more information.
