Provider Alias not part of Schema Anymore

In Terrastack (~ a month ago) the provider alias attribute was part of the Schema. Now it's missing from the AWS provider schema. Wondering if that change was intentional.

This attribute was deprecated as part of provider source work. Terraform used to index providers by a string made up of type.alias, which is why it existed before. Now, it uses the provider FQN and doesn't retain information about any aliases used in the configuration.

How can I assign a different provider to a resource then?

alias as a resource and provider attribute will still work and is not deprecated. Apparently, it is just its presence in the exported provider schema that is deprecated. Previously, they required that to be in the schema in order to configure the provider. Because provider source work moves the logic to a different place, they no longer required alias to be a part of the provider schema directly.

Then alias is now more like a meta attribute in providers, similar to count in resources, I assume.
