Follow on from #232
- If it's easy to host OAM, then multiple countries / orgs could host their own instance.
- Panoramax already has a simple setup and federation of public STAC instances built in.
- We should use a similar model here, to join multiple catalogues together into a primary / default catalogue of OAM.
This would reduce the burden on our server, improve fault tolerance and uptime across multiple servers, and allow people to have data sovereignty (data stored in their own countries borders) if that is a major concern.
Considerations:
- Panoramax use Keycloak. Perhaps we need to consider using an auth service like that, or alternatively make the HOT Login deployment very robust and portable.
