I'm downloading over 110,000 photos, and iCloudPD always closes on its own in the same location(49588) without any message many times.

By "closes on its own" you mean it terminates without showing any error? What is the cause of termination if you run icloudpd with --log-level debug?

There is no detailed log. It always hangs for a long time in the same file and then exits without any message.

Is it always failing on the same file? The strange part for me it that there is no info in the log. In the case of dropped connection/etc icloudpd should have reported that and retried.

Yes, it always returns to the prompt after a long period of inactivity with the same file without any logs. Another 9GB file had issues. So I downloaded the problematic file directly from icloud.com, deleted it from iCloud, and downloaded other files using icloudpd. I assumed it was because the download of such a large file took too long and then stopped. However, there are still no logs.

I am running into this exact issue. The exit code is 1, failing on a 1.39GB video. Anything I could do for debugging this?

When trying to export unmodified original from my iPhone, it initially failed with this, but then succeeded. I just deleted that one video and let icloudpd continue, and will import it later.

Same issue here: I'm trying to download a video that has about 1.5 GB in size. However, for me it says "killed" and when I restarted it and ran "watch -n 1 free -m" I could see that at first the usage of memory was constant at around 3 GB and after a while it shot through the roof and the system killed the process.
The machine I'm running it on is configured with 8 GB of memory.

Update: I reconfigured the machine to have 16 GB of RAM. The file synced now, but with only about 150 MB to spare.

OOMing makes total sense given the symptoms. Was the higher ram consumption introduced recently (did prev version of icloudpd work fine on lower ram)?

Mine was not OOMKilled to be clear. It also had an exit code 1 (not 127, neither did I run out of memory looking at the memory metrics)

Same issue without any log, had to bump RAM for containers to 10GB.

It's probably an out of memory error...
