I plan to use a free subdomain from is-a.dev to host several applications, like Immich, Plex Media Server, HomeAssistant, Prometheus, Grafana, and more. To do this, I need to use Cloudflare Tunnels, and for that, I need to set an NS record to let Cloudflare manage the DNS for my subdomain.

Why is this important to me?

1. Cloudflare requires DNS management to be fully delegated to them via NS records in order to connect Cloudflare Tunnels to public URLs. This ensures that the tunnels can correctly map to the subdomain and work as expected.

2. Cloudflare provides the best security options for a free tier. Some of the apps I’m hosting will be private (like HomeAssistant for my smart home or Immich for storing personal photos), so I need to make sure they are secure. Cloudflare helps by:

   • Protecting apps with a Web Application Firewall (WAF).
   • Blocking DDoS attacks.
   • Limiting access to private apps with IP filters or login options.
   • Encrypting all traffic with HTTPS.

Requirements

Unless explicitly specified otherwise by a maintainer or in the requirement description, your domain must pass ALL the indicated requirements above.

Please note that we reserve the rights not to accept any domain at our own discretion.

• The file is in the domains folder and is in the JSON format.
• The file's name is all lowercased and alphanumeric.
• You have completed your website.
• The website is reachable.
• The CNAME record doesn't contain https:// or /.
• There is sufficient information at the owner field.
