Deprecation: Selection API: addRange() ignores additional Ranges

It seems that a function used in the code will be deprecated soon.

This warning is shown in Chrome Version 57.0.2987.133 (64-bit):

The behavior that Selection.addRange() merges existing Range and the specified Range
is deprecated and will be removed in M58, around April 2017.

It does not seem like this project is maintained anymore, and new PR are not being accepted; so I don't expect this to be fixed. Does anyone know any fork that is carrying on with the development or any good alternative?
