I continue to focus on providing first-class metadata generation in Rust (#1093) via the
windows-metadatacrate to support full component authoring (#1094). This PR just pulls in a bunch of work I've been doing to provide a better foundation for metadata generation and reproducible builds. As it cuts across both metadata reader and writer, I decided to merge this ahead of completion to simplify subsequent development.
