Note that this tag was introduced by some organised mapping campaign, done by paid mappers, in violation of osm rules, and still is mostly used in small part of the world.

I am really dubious about promoting it.

I forgot to type it all. This definition was only used in the proposal. It wasn't documented at all afterwards. Very strange.

I don't think this tag should be promoted. The standard barrier=gate + gate:type=* should be used instead.

either way this specific tag should not be supported, this specific feature needs proper documented tag to be supported
