Description of issue

Homebrew failed to track the correct version of pearcleaner. I installed pearcleaner using brew install pearcleaner, and the pearcleaner version at the time of installation is 5.0.9. When I run brew info pearcleaner, it shows the version is 5.2.1, but the version shown in both pearcleaner app and brew list --versions is 5.0.9. I then upgrade it to 5.2.1 using the updater inside pearcleaner. brew list --versions still show version 5.0.9. This also happened to me before with ghostty. But after uninstalling ghostty and reinstall it with brew, the version is correct.

Brew can't keep track of the version of an application that upgrades itself using an in-app updater. The version difference is because brew ls shows the latest version that Homebrew installed, and brew info shows the latest version available.
