Summary

  • PyTorch stopped publishing nightly builds for the rocm7.0 index on Feb 6, 2026, so MI325 CI has been stuck on torch==2.11.0.dev20260206+rocm7.0 for ~2 months
  • This causes intermittent GPU crashes (Fatal Python error: Aborted inside Triton's _init_handles) due to the stale torch/Triton version mismatch
  • Upgrade to rocm7.2 which has fresh nightlies (latest: torch==2.12.0.dev20260401+rocm7.2)

Test plan

  • MI325 CI job passes on this PR
