We use the following url at work
https://tfs.companyname.net/tfs/

If that's an Azure DevOps Server URL, then you should configure that URL in settings.json. See On-Premise Servers

yes, it's Azure DevOps Server.

As I understand it, the url will always start with /tfs. Also, when using your own domain, the tfs. subdomain is used by default.

There might be a way to configure a completely different Url for Azure DevOps Server, but it seems to me that in most cases we can detect Azure DevOps automatically.

otherwise, Azure DevOps Server does not differ from the Cloud version in any way
