Force Clamp User Interface Overview

Force Clamp GUI

Above is the user interface for the force clamp application. From top to bottom, the controls do the following...

  • Target Force: Amount of force to apply during constant force
  • Sample Rate: The sampling rate for force clamp data. Typically 500 or 1000 Hz.
  • Max Time: Maximum time the force clamp will execute. You should set this to roughly the sub-pN force stability for your cantilever. For uncoated biolever longs, this would be ~ 100-200 seconds
  • Defl Offset: This is the deflection voltage when zero force is applied to cantilever. You can use the "Set" button next to this value to read the current deflection voltage and sets it to the "Defl Offset".
  • Iteration: Number of times the force clamp program has been run. Increases by one every time the force clamp program is run.
  • Callback: The procedure that will execute when the force clamp program is finished running.
  • Do Force Clamp: Executes the force clamp program. Will immediately go to constant force with the displayed settings.
  • Stop: This will stop the force clamp program manually.
