WD supports the SDRPlay, but since they won't support an open source driver
it is complex to install it.
Even more importantly, the SDRPlay is a narrow band device, so you can tune
your system to only one WWV channel.
What problem are you having with your RX888?
There is an optional Remote Access Channel service which if enabled allows
me to log on and examine your WD server

Hello, can the SDR play be used to provide data for WSPR Daemon and the

files to some sort of GARPE format. SDR play can record wave files very
easily. Ideally, we would be using the RX888 but we are having trouble
getting it to work.

Look at https://files.tapr.org/psr/psr154.pdf page 7 which describes how to do it with an SDRPlay.

Gotcha. Thank you so much.
I am working with a very sharp high school intern that is part of our ASPIRE STEM program at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab. He has done an amazing job working through all the HAMSCI GRAPE install stuff but the RX888 does not seem to be working as there is no viable signal observed when collecting with a working antenna and LNA. Since we have confirmed that the antenna and cabling are fine, it's seems like either the radio hardware or software (on the radio or on the computer) could be the culprit. In the meantime, I am looking for alternatives to keep him making progress in some way shape or form. while we try and sort things out with Nathaniel from HAMSCI. SDR play seemed like a possible viable alternative though I know it's limited.
My intern currently has the RX888. I am going to get it from him and dig in a little to see if it's something silly like an amplifier setting, etc. Shivom is extremely smart, capable and diligent, though he is young so he may still have missed something. Let me klick the tires a bit and get back with you Rob.

I should have warned you, that solution is not using ka9q-radio. You can compile an SDRPlay frontend in ka9q-radio, however. I haven’t done that, yet.

Here’s a link to deepwiki that includes info that will help you do it. Or just go to deepwiki.com <http://deepwiki.com/> and search ka9q-radio and then search SDRPlay inside that.
