Hi signag,
thanks for the hint.... I will definitely test it on my Pi Zero2W... do you
have a recommendation on the OS? I typically use Bookwork 32bit lite -
always freshly setup to avoid conflicts with other projects...
cheers

… Hi,
it took a while, but with version 4.2, you can define *Regions of
Interest* and/or *Regions of NO Interest* for Motion Detection
<https://github.com/signag/raspi-cam-srv/blob/main/docs/TriggerMotion.md#regions-of-interest--regions-of-no-interest>
.
It is not as fine-grained as a mask could be, but with a set of rectangle
areas you can get close.
Maybe later I can think about drawing a mask for defining *Regions of No
Interest*

Hi,
thanks for the hint with Trixie - I was not aware about a new OS. So I used
according your guide Trixie 64bit with desktop and followed all steps -
everything went smoothly, also startup... So far no issues at all and I
will test it in next few days...

… Hi
The RoI Implementation requires OpenCV.
I have recently switched to Trixie also on the Zero and Zero2. That's what
is now offered by imager. And it works.
However, for motion detection, I would stay with "Mean Square Dev". The
others seem a little bit too resource consuming on the long run.

this is a great tool and runs flawless on my Pi5 and Pi Zero 2W - both on Bookworm 64bit. thanks for sharing this on github!
Since I use it in trigger mode (motion detection) and had some "false detections" due to natural movements (e.g. tree and wind). Now I would like to ask if a "mask function" could be included? E.g. upload a black and white image, where only white areas are monitored for motion.
