Feature request: Manually define train lines

The current way that OSM handles rail lines counts entire transit systems as one "line"
For example, the entire DC metro system is counted as one line in the station on same train line matching question.
Can there be a system for users to manually define train lines?
In addition it is unclear how to exclude entire lines from the game for if you are not playing with them. Another example from DC: OSM includes the capitol subway system, which is not open to public use, but the game considers them as in play.

I have had this request before and will probably add it after I implement the custom measuring questions. Adding the ability for manual definitions causes more UI overhead, so I am thinking of a way of not adding too many overlapping menus. As mentioned in other issues, the UI can already seem to be overly complicated, so further complexifying it with this might not be advantageous. If you have any ideas of how you'd like the UI to add this, please let me know.

I typed out a few ideas that would add more layers of menus.
But then thinking about it some more I think I've come across an idea.
Currently within the sidebar hiding zone menu there are multiple independent elements. Specifically: a dropdown, the radius selector, 5 buttons, and then the station list (which is its own self contained element)
What if instead of one self contained hiding zone list, there was one per line. Or if they stayed in one list but it was grouped by line, with a header marking each line. That way, an entire line could be selected as "not in play", and there could be also be like a bottom button to add a new line group, and the ability to drag stations between lines.
I'm not sure if i explained that well but basically here's an example.
Imagine a city with lines R,G, and B, each with three stations
The current menu would be structured like

-search
--R2
--G3
--G1
--B1
--R1
--B3
--G2
--R3
--B2

My idea for a menu would be structured like

-search (can be used for both lines and stations)
--Line R
---R2
---R1
---R3
--Line G
---G3
---G1
---G2
--Line B
---B1
---B3
---B2
-add new line

that way the stations could be dragged between line segments.
I can obviously see how this wouldn't be the biggest priority, and whether or not it can end up happening thank you so much for making this project, it's super cool.

I'm just wondering, would it be realistic to use that for the line matching question/cross out entire lines at once?
