Set homepage through gh-pages cli

What's the way to set package.json homepage field through cli instead of reading it from a file?

I would like to bump this. I'm using Ionic Capacitor alongside of gh-pages for deploying my create-react-app. All of these are fairly common frameworks. The challenge lies in that Capacitor uses the homepage attribute for its own use.
It would be most helpful if I could configure this somewhere other than the package.json or at least in an overriding attribute.

My app homepage is https://cloud-pipelines.net, but I deploy my app to https://cloud-pipelines.net/pipeline-editor sub-folder. I want to control the gh-pages homepage field separately.
