setuptools-scm provides a much streamlined mechanism for obtaining version numbers and MANIFESTs.
Note: this package requires
setuptools>=80, which requirespython>=3.9, which clobbers the ability toconda install pytrilinos. Therefore, wait to merge until after release of FiPy 4.0.
