$ is undefined - jQuery is not working after install package

I just installed this package and getting jQuery undefined error. We have used Laravel mix in the project. Is this creating an issue?

Laravel version : 7.x
PHP version : 7.3.5
Laravel page speed package version : ^2.0
OS : Debian 10

you can try to comment middleware DeferJavascript::class in Kernel.php
