Describe the problem

When I try to stream via the joyn addon in kodi, kodi crashes after freezing up for a few seconds and I have the following message in my dmesg:

[ 1486.383776] traps: VideoPlayer[3916] trap invalid opcode ip:7a42d471bbd0 sp:7a4349c15780 error:0 in libwidevinecdm.so[d1abd0,7a42d4527000+626000]

Possibly this is the wrong place to report this error, however I am grateful for any help.

1. Start Kodi
2. Go to joyn app
3. Start any stream

No such file seems to have been created.

Kodi v20 use deprecated interface for widevine and can lead to many problems
the best thing to do is upgrade to v21

as alternative, if you want stay to v20 version you can try to build by yourself this addon
by taking sources from "nexus" branch that contains some fixes, ref: #1846

Thank you, I wasn't aware that the most recent version of kodi does not come via apt anymore. I switched to using the flatpak one and now everything works flawlessly.
