Hi, I don't know if it's upstream issue but if the point (node/2916428481) has the following tags:

internet_access=wlan
internet_access:fee=no

it's rendered as:

Hey thanks for the report - I investigated it and found out that it actually is wrong in the id tagging presets, see this file.
I will create a issue or pull request over there soon!

Inside iD editor it correctly translates the no to Free in all languages. That kinds of make the whole field understandable. Nevertheless, label including Fee would be better.

So, I think we have some issue in OsmAPP which doesn't translate this field. Maybe something like #559.

yes and no are displayed using emoji. When I implemented that translations are applied I made sure that yes and no aren't translated.
This needed to be done so the function for human values (which applies the emoji) only needs to account for the English yes and no instead of multiple languages.
If we remove this code it should be translated to Free bu then the emoji for "yes" and "no" would only work for English

I see, thanks for clarifications.

In that case, I think we should always prefer a fieldTranslation if there is any. And only change yes/no to emojis as a last option – that is, if we didn't find any specific translation. Does it make sense?
