Pull request overview
This pull request adds recursion depth limiting to the Ethereum ABI type parser to prevent stack overflow from deeply nested or maliciously crafted array type strings. The implementation introduces a configurable depth limit and ensures parsing fails gracefully when the limit is exceeded.
Key changes:
- Added
MAX_RECURSION_DEPTHconstant (set to 20) to limit parsing recursion - Refactored
parse_typeto delegate to newparse_type_stepmethod that tracks recursion depth - Added comprehensive test coverage for the recursion limit boundary conditions

This pull request updates the GitHub Actions workflow files to use pinned versions of actions by commit SHA instead of version tags. This change improves security and reproducibility by ensuring that CI always uses the exact same action code, protecting against upstream changes or supply chain attacks. Additionally, some action versions have been updated to newer releases, and a minor improvement was made to the Rust workflow to clean up build artifacts after running address sanitizer tests.
The most important changes are:
Security and reproducibility improvements (pinning actions to commit SHAs):
actions/checkout,actions/cache,Swatinem/rust-cache,gradle/gradle-build-action,mozilla-actions/sccache-action, etc.) are now pinned to specific commit SHAs rather than floating tags, across all CI workflows, including Android, iOS, Kotlin, Flutter, Linux, Docker, and Rust. This ensures consistent and secure builds.Dependency and tool updates:
actions/checkoutto v6.0.1,actions/cacheto v5.0.1,Swatinem/rust-cacheto v2.8.2,gradle/gradle-build-actionto v2.12.0, and others, improving compatibility and performance.Rust workflow improvements:
cargo clean) after address sanitizer tests to free up disk space.dtolnay/rust-toolchainaction, streamlining the setup process. These changes collectively make CI builds more secure, reliable, and maintainable.
